DS’S KOSMOS

It’s been quite a while since I posted anything here coz of the simple fact that there was simply nothing to report!!!Well I recently had my birthday on the 11th. It turned out to be quite an occasion unexpectedly!!The day began quite normally. Got wished by everyone in my family. They all preferred to give me cash instead of gifts coz they know that I am saving up to buy a new keyboard.I didn’t have college that day so had a rather late start. The first one to wish me was,of course, dearest Deepa at midnight. Naturally it would be!!! She also let me know that she would be coming to meet me at my place that evening. Then I also had calls from Madhuri and Vj. From the morning i was rather astonished at the number of people who called or emailed me for my birthday!! Nalini,my school friend has never failed to wish me for my birthday even though she is in Secundrabad from the past couple of years!! Really touched actually!!! As was custom I went to the temple first thing with my brother.Dad and mom were leaving on a trip that evening so i helped mom pack some stuff.Deepa then came around 6 45 and brought along my 1st surprise!!!First she and Vj had planned to bring a cake which Deepa brought coz Vj had been down with fever from the past 2 days. Anyways it was a chocolate one and as I am a chocoholic I thoroughly enjoyed myself!!Along with the cake i also got a gorgeous pair of earrings,a lovely chain with a crown-shaped pendent and a white stoned bracelet!! best of all was this card which Deepa has designed herself. it was very special.Deepa and me then conjured up Vj and we three had a lovly time till 10 in the night!!!

So that was my first surprise. My 2nd one was at college when my friends- Aruna,Chandana,Madhuri, Padma ,Sheetal and Vrushali all had planned another chocolate[everyone who knows me knows that I am such a chocolate lover] cake cutting ceremony at college. When they had the time to organise it I don’t know coz we had just the previous day finished our mid-sem exams. They also gave me this nice wooden pen stand  which is very very beautiful and Aruna gave me this ornate pocket mirror.

This was equally as touching as ever. I am truely blessed to have such gr8 friends and people who care about me.So thanx a ton all of you!!Have included the photos of the 2 cakes. Looks yummy don’t they??

Well it’s been quite a boring old couple of weeks. Nothing much to talk about. I had gone on a trip with my family to this religious centre called Shirdhi. It was an 18 hour train journey from here in Bangalore so pretty much tired by the time we actually reached the place, Infact I was joking to everyone that in half the time i had been able to reach London last year!!Well apart from the fact that we had to wait in a queue for 3 hours before we could enter the temple, we had a great time. very tiring though. Anyways was able to take some nice pics from the train on the way back.

In college, every single day there are rumors that we will get the 3rd sem results that very day but it ain’t happening. Anyways today was my paternal grandad’s death ceremony. It’s been 18 years since he passed away. I can barely remember him now. Also today was the Merit prize distribution ceremony in my college. I was present to collect my certificate for being the topper in the 1st sem for the whole of the arts stream as well as for been the highest in all my core subjects. In my 2nd sem, i topped in Psychology. Anyways instead of cash, I got some silver articles over which my family preened over!!! That’s about it for now. Will post again soon.

Well yesterday was my first day of the 4th sem of my college. It was really nice to see all my dear pals and have a face to face chat with them. Though we had only Sanskrit class, I did enjoy coming back to college, I had missed it terribly!!  Very jittery now coz  our 3rd sem results may be announced any day now!! Hoping for the best!!! Today we had the usual great class in Psychology coz Mala ma’am was taking it. We started a lesson on Adolescence. This year ie 2nd year consisting of my 3rd and 4th sem, we are doing Human developement in various stages. So yay!!!Hopefully it will turn out to be another great year!!!

Hello!

Hope you all had the greatest of the first day of the year.   Well the first person to wish and bless me for the new year was of course my ’soul sister’   [as she puts it] ,Deepa. After her I wished my parents and brother. After that I sat down on my bed and was lost in reminiscing the whole year. For me, this has been one of the best years of my life for various reasons. One very materialistic reason is the fact that I visited UK.

Well anyways got up late in the morning today. I had agreed with my mum that I was to cook the meal for the day. So there was me in the kitchen at 10 in the morning. My cooking consisted of me making firstly sweet corn vegetable soup followed by an appetizer called bread masala which was my own recipe and lastly for the main course I prepared vegetable noodles. Surprisingly ,given my lack of experience in the field, it came out quite well. I was satisfied personally coz this was the first time I had prepared anything without my mum or granny hovering behind me. So yay!! In the evening, after a sleepy afternoon, dad announced that he wanted to visit this bookstore to buy a yearly planner. So up I jumped to accompany him coz of course when will I miss an oppurtunity to go to a bookstore? Anyways the result was that i ended up buying this book called ‘ P S I Love You” by Cecelia Ahern which had also been made into a movie. Can’t wait to read it. Anyways I am enclosing some pics of my cooking and also of mum’s dessert[Trifle] which I merely helped decorate. God Bless everyone !!

HEY EVERYONE!!!

This is my first ever post on the blog. So first let me start by wishing all of you a VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR 2009!!! Well i had such a great 2008 that i do not simply want to let it go.
